There are splendid places downstream of Sylva. Aspiring to high into the air green banks are decorated with fantastical stones. These are rests of reeflimestones, which were generated at that time when the Perm Sea was here. They look like columns, ridges, mushrooms, tooth, and cupolas. You can collect a lot of stones with stamps of extinct plants and animals. |
THE KUNGUR ICE CAVE. | The Kungur ice cave has been famous since olden times. Its pioneering studies were realized in the eighteenth century. Nowadays this cave is a nature memorial of all-Russian importance.
In Russia it is provided for excursions only one. This cave is situated on the right bank of the river Sylva in the ice mountain in the north-eastern Kungur outskirts. It is a great carst matter and the hugest gypsum Ural cave. Its extension is 5600 m (the sixth place of the karst caves in the world.) Total volume of grottoes amounts more then 100 thousand c m.
There are sixty lakes with the cleanest water in it. The length of the special equipped rout is 1,5 km. Enter and exit are separated. There is a tour complex “Stalagmit” near the cave (a hotel, a restaurant, a car park.). |
